The primary responsibilities of the position are to:
  • Manage the accuracy and productivity of day to day accounting activities including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Payroll, Fixed Asset Records, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the annual budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  • Develop, improve and issue timely monthly financial statements for the President and other members of the Senior Executive Team
  • Support year-end close process and interface and manage outside audit firm
  • Manage and comply with government reporting requirements and tax filings
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Perform cash flow management by measuring and forecasting cash inflows and outflows to predict short term and medium-term cash position of the companies.
  • Manage the human and financial resources of the department
  • Aids in the development of the department’s annual operational strategies/goals and ensures strategies are achieved
  • Continually evaluates the department processes and outcomes to ensure optimal efficiency and organizational needs are achieved; recognizing opportunities for improvement in processes, and materials, and implementing changes as required
  • Oversee proper Project Accountant, ensuring revenue and cost are attributed to the correct projects.
  • Perform WIP calculations.
  • Lead ongoing integration of ERP Software and be internal point of contact for all Maestro related issues.
  • Manage cell phone and computer contracts and hardware.
Successful candidate must have:
  • Professional Accounting designation (CPA) with experience in Management Accounting with 3 plus years of experience in the construction industry or contracting operations preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Must have full knowledge and understanding of Accounting Principles and have strong Accounting Technical knowledge
  • Strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize are essential to aid working to tight deadlines and multi-tasking
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills are pivotal to establishing and maintaining harmonious working relationships
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to meet the ever-changing demands of the organization
  • Demonstrate ability to carry projects and initiatives to completion while working successfully with different types of people at many organizational levels both in a team environment and independently
  • Demonstrate discretion and sound judgment in the handling of confidential information, this includes a high degree of integrity and trust
  • Strong analytical skills in order to resolve issues and evaluate possible solutions
  • Extreme attention to detail and proven track record for accuracy is necessary
  • Previous supervisory experience where leadership style encompassed mentoring and empowerment of staff
  • Extensive computer knowledge in corporate software applications and applicable systems skills a must
