Michael Monk

Monk has been employed with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) for thirty-five years, with extensive experience in GST/HST.

He currently works at CRA’s Ottawa Headquarters with the GST/HST and Digital Compliance Directorate, where he has managed the National GST/HST Presentations and Outreach services for the past nine years. In this role, he has developed and delivered several hundred GST/HST presentations nationwide.

Previously, Michael spent twelve years as a Team Leader and Senior Technical Interpretations Analyst in GST/HST Rulings within the Legislative Policy and Regulatory Affairs Branch and held various roles within the Compliance Programs Branch. A CRA facilitator for over twenty years, he has developed and delivered GST/HST legislation and audit training to hundreds of CRA employees and regularly presents at national conferences for accounting and industry associations.
